Grow Green Onions from Scraps

There are many reasons we all should know how to feed ourselves. I'm not just talking about cooking from the grocery store. I'm talking about being able to grow our own food and actually become self-sufficient. This could be a natural disaster, like the zombie apocalypse, or it could be due to loss of a job.
We all are given the gift of being able to grow our own food and that is a beautiful gift to have. We just have to tap into it and do the work to learn how to communicate with nature. It's not so much about just getting the education of gardening, but more of the tuning into the plants and how they thrive. It's a beautiful experience once you really get into it. In order to find the joy in this process we have to start somewhere that is not only easy but also has instant gratification. For me if it takes too long, I'm not interested. "Give me a reason to stay and ill love you forever"....I said to my onion plant. Which brings me to my first point of instant gratification. I planted the green onion I used for my birthday to make a delicious salmon taco salad.
I used the easy method I created to be able to plant while cooking, that I share in The Enchanted Butterfly Garden Community, to make it easy and simple to grow your own food. In less than a month this is what happened to my kitchen scraps.

I now have a whole new onion to eat, and I don't need to go back to the store. I can eat it as I need it, so I also don't have any waste. They even simplified it for you and created a product that helps you regrow your own scraps.
It was so much fun and so simple to do, that I can hardly imagine why more people don't have a garden of their own. I didn't know about all the benefits that came along with having a garden. There is so much healing power in plants and so many benefits to our mental health.
There is so much to learn and when you combine the mental health benefits and the ability to sustain yourself in case of an emergency, I would say it is pretty worth it.
You can even learn how to grow a vegetable garden all year round. This is the plan I have for myself because I think I would enjoy an indoor garden room to grow my plants in. I am looking forward to growing the different vegetables that are mentioned in The Year-Round Vegetable Gardeners Bible by Steven Dowding.
To really top it off, did you know about the health benefits of green onions? They are high in antioxidants and also help lower blood sugar. Talk about a great multi purpose project. Who knew you could cure yourself with some simple replanting? Thanks for listening to me ramble on about green onions and the benefits they bring and I hope you learned something you didnt know that could help you in your everyday life.
